Tariffs & Pricing
BQS Power charges tenants for electricity consumed at the embedded network site. Our prices never exceed — and are set at a discount to — the local area retailer's standing offer. Prices are reviewed at least annually. The comparison below shows each charge as a percentage saving against the local area retailer's standing offer, as required by the Australian Energy Regulator's exempt seller conditions.

Our tariffs — Ergon Energy area (regional Queensland)
Applies to all BQS Power supply points (currently all in the Ergon Energy area).
BQS Power tenants are charged 20% less on usage than the local area retailer's (Ergon Energy) standing offer, Tariff 11. The daily supply charge is passed through at the standing-offer rate (no margin).

South East Queensland (Energex area) — commencing soon
BQS Power will shortly commence supply at a property in the Energex (South East Queensland) area.
In the Energex area, Energex is the distribution network operator, not a retailer. The relevant benchmark is the local area retailer's standing offer (Origin Energy). The exempt customer tariffs and the percentage comparison for that site will be published here before supply begins.
How We Bill
- Bills are issued at least quarterly (and may be issued monthly)
- Each bill shows: billing period, meter reading (start and end), kWh consumed, tariff rate, supply charge, GST, and total amount due
- Each bill also shows the contact details for the Energy and Water Ombudsman Queensland (EWOQ) — free call 1800 662 837, www.ewoq.com.au
- Bills are issued under the trading name BQS Power, ABN 21 269 363 940

BQS Power does not impose any charge that the local area retailer would not charge under its standing offer (AER exempt seller Condition 7(3)). We charge only for usage and the daily supply charge — no account establishment, metering or other retail fees.
